As our customer you provide us with important information about yourself. It is our responsibility to safeguard your personal and financial information. We have developed the following privacy policy to ensure the security, integrity and confidentiality of your personal financial information.
We collect nonpublic personal information about you from many sources. Those sources include:
- Information that you give us on applications such as name, address, social security number, assets and income.
- Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others such as account balances and payment history.
- Information we receive from a consumer-reporting agency such as credit history.
Nonpublic personal information means information we collect in connection with providing a financial product or service to you. Nonpublic personal information does not include that which is available from public sources such as government records or government mandated disclosures or widely distributed public media. (i.e. telephone directories)
We restrict access to information about you to those employees that have a business reason for utilizing the information. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.
Citizens National Bank does not disclose nonpublic personal information we collect (see above) about our customers or former customers to affiliate or nonaffiliated third parties except as permitted by law.
We may disclose customer information we collect (see above) to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf, such as bulk mailing or direct marketing companies, or to other financial institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements such as insurance companies, mutual fund companies, and credit card companies.
In these instances where customer information is shared we require those parties:
- To abide by applicable privacy laws that reflect our commitment to maintain the confidentiality of your information, and;
- To use the information disclosed only for the purpose for which it was originally intended.
In the course of ordinary banking business, situations arise that may result in the disclosure of customer information. These include, but are not limited to:
- To provide information in connection with managing and processing your accounts;
- The settlement of claims or benefits, the confirmation of information to the consumer or the consumer’s agent, and the billing, processing, or clearing of items;
- To a consumer reporting agency;
- To comply with federal, state, or local laws, rules, and other applicable legal requirements (such as subpoena, pursuant to court order or garnishment)
